need help getting established
I got my commission about a month ago. I have been signing up on websites to try to get business and have had no success. If anyone knows of any places that I can sign my name and start getting business please help me! I am trying to do this for extra income I have three small kids to feed. I am a loan assistant so I know all about loan docs, but i need to get my name out to make some extra income.

It takes time, and Florida is saturated with signing agents (where are you in Florida?) A month is not that long, patience is the key.

a little advice....
sign up with 20 companies a day for a month... only then will your phone start to ring.
Market, Market, Market and market some more. Then when you've exhaused every marketing avenue that you can think of and you're done... start all over again and repeat repeat repeat.
It took me a year and a half to do just 20 signings.... only now after five years in this business am I am doing 20 in a month.

Re: a little advice....
I beg to differ with the threads of this topic. If it took me a year to do 20 signings I would have given up long ago. I am in a rural area so that makes a big difference to being in Florida, however, is that saying there are no rural areas in Florida as there must be none in California. Until the last few months I have had more coming at me than one person can do. Yes the market will be tougher going forward. At six months I had the potential of 30 signings per month coming at me. I think the amount of and quality of marketing I did had something to do with it. Be positive, be professional. If you want to email me I will give you some info that may help.

Get ready to starve your first year. Even with good contacts in the business, it took me a good year before I could support myself and my business in the way that I was accustom to. IMO, now is not a good time to be getting into this business as the market has slowed and the number of agents has risen. It will be harder now then it was two years ago, but if you do a good job and market yourself well, you may be able to make a go of it.
