I'm signing up with a new SS and one of the items that they would like is a picture of me. . .ever heard of that? Seems weird to me. . .I understand that they want a professional appearance, but a photo, really?

Maybe this is to weed out those young guys with too many piercing that I remember someone telling about on here. The one the borrower said did all the cussing and came in some t-shirt and flip flops.

I'm sure that there is one of those floating around on the web somewhere. . .

If that is a requirement then I will be out of business in a heartbeat!

I don't think it's legal for them to ask for a photo. Unless it's a job where your appearance is specifically related to your performance of the job (actor, model, etc.) then they can't ask for it. Who knows, maybe they're not looking for a professional appearance, but really want to see what race you are because they don't want any (insert racial slur of choice here) working for them.

When I see stupid stuff like that, I'm not gonna waste my time signing up with the company. Consider it a big red flag, because if they don't know basic employment law, who knows what else they don't know?
