testing to sign up with SS

I've been looking at various SS and I've noticed that some require in addittion to the contract agreement ,W-9 and questionaire they also require you to take a test and score 80 or better tried to search the subject but I guess I'm not putting in the right phrases is this pretty common or does anyone have a msg # so that I can look it up Thanks

Juanita: Yes, some signing agencies require this. This is to insure that you know the basics of signing a loan package and understand your role as a notary signing agent. It is up to you if you would like to work with these signing companies. Personally with my back ground I did not do this. I have several years in the mortgage industry and a notary and also am certified through the NNA. I found so many other companies that were willing to work with me that I did not need to take a test with.
So it really is a personal choice if you want to do business with these companies or not.

Good Luck to you.
