Another ID issue - signing today

Docs come in with names John K. Doe and Jane M. Doe - ID is Kenneth John Doe and Jane Smith Doe. Neither of them have ID showing John K or Jane M yet they've both used those names "forever" as they told me. Call to processor (in house lender) - their solution? Change the name on the mortgage to match the ID's they have - then later another call to change all middle initials and names to match ID - and have them resign and initial changes.

Didn't like it but did what I was told - got it in writing from the company before I released the package. I'm still not comfortable.

Linda, check page 61 of the manual. I handle many ID discrepancies in this manner. Be sure to let title know it's not a problem and you can do the signing, but they need to understand what the certs are going to look like and why brws are signing both ways.

Call me if you have any questions.

I was going to go that route - but called title first - if these people had one piece of ID showing the other names I'd have been fine - under the circumstances I called title, told them about the ID and they told me to have them change the names on all the docs. (and like I said - got it in writing first)..signing was done and package is gone..
