Background checks
Hello everyone. I was just wondering what other signing agents had to say about this new background check requirement. I'm a little ticked that we have to pay to be background certified by multiple listing agencies, when we have already had a background check done by our commissioning state. (at least I think all states do their own background check, as I know that both my commissioning states of New York & Florida did before granting commission) As Notaries Public, we are trusted officials right? Anyway, just wanted to get some feedback Thanks! Happy Thanksgiving to all.....

Hi Annette... Please use the orange "Search" button and search using the keywords Background Check or BCG. This topic has been discussed at great length. If you do a search and read the threads, you'll soon discover how the rest of the Notary Rotary Community feels about it.

Re: Background checks - Annette
Are you saying you are commissioned in NY and Florida? Or did you move to Fl from NY or visa versa?

Re: Background checks - Annette
I have recently relocated to Florida from NY so yes I hold commissions in both states. NY states that you must have a residence but not necessarily hold residency.

Re: Background checks - Annette
So you are still a resident of NY??? NY requires you to be a resident - to me that suggests you are required to reside in the state. I am confused. Florida requires you to be a full time resident.
