Just last night I got a 999-999-9999

I did a quick google and found out it was the call of death. Well, when I answered there was no one on the line, so I guess that's good.

yes, we have Clint East Wood, Arnold S. I have seen the 000-000-0000 ones before or 0 but not the 123 one.

They even show that exact number as the example.
Geez! May be someone will try setting it to 911 or FBI or something of that sort!

I'd vote to ban these guys! Beats the whole purpose of caller id.

This is not new, I worked for a Private Investigator that used this but it was not cheap. Now you can get a calling card that allows you to do this.

I worked for SBC/Pacific Bell for 33 years. There are types of service, mostly Supertrunk and PRI (which involve major trunking and a large phone switch) Where the customer is allowed to state what appears on the caller id. I had many instances where the customer wanted a number shown that wasn't a part of their primary number bank. Hope that helps.
