Cha-Ching.. Got one tonight..
Got a call at 4:00 PM from Millennium Financial... REFI and got my $150.00 confirmed via email. As a helpful advice from a fellow notary on this website... always get it in writing (Email) confirmation!
When I started in Sept I thought $75.00 was decent, But with the loan docs getting bigger and more certificates to complete and travel time, its worth charging at least $100.00 for starters, (considering everything). I have been contacted for alot of signings and I've gain some experience and feel comfortable with the signature notarizations and have read and will continue to understand my notarial duties.
It really is true that there are so many different loans and companies that it really does keep you on your toes and requires attention to details. My business, which I do part time, is a blessing on extra income and the area I am in does not have that many notaries and the demand is high so both are positive factors for leaning towards higher fees for service and developing a client base.
I appreciate Notary Rotary Website and community of notaries.
Just wanted to share my experience tonight..
P.S. And yes I do have some horror stories and mistakes along the way.. but used those as stepping stones and growing pains of the industry...
God Bless and Goodnight..

I thought they use a Signing Service. I recently had a call from a SS to do one for Milennium Financial.

Re: Cha-Ching.. Got one tonight..-Ok John and now all you
have to do is get paid by the company, not to be negative but when I get a call and everything sounds good, and of course you always insist on an e-mail confirmation. You get her done and then hope to get paid without having to chase that money......Great success to you.....

Re: Cha-Ching.. Got one tonight..Wonderful
I always thought sharing the details of your signing order with payment would be very helpful for new notaries like myself. If we know how much to ask for we can all be on the same page and the notaries who are accepting those low ball fees might reconsider.
thanks for sharing

Re: Cha-Ching.. Got one tonight..I have one SS to share
I got a call from this SS 8:20 9/20/06 the cut my check 10/24/06 I received it in the mail 10/27 the job was 4 miles from my home. No complaints about the loan. The signing went smooth no questions asked. It was a Countrywide Refi $125.00
The Lesson I learned she told me it was a straight refi 47 pages ended up being 2 sets 326 pages. I reviewed the doc's again right before I deleted I saw e-docs $50.00 I accepted the job because it was very close to my location and it was 1 set.
It was 8:30 PM when I started printing the doc's were dated for 9/20 I only had 3 1/2 hrs to print and drive get the signing done by 12 mid when I realized it was two sets. To show I wanted to do the job as promised hoping for more work in the future. I printed both sets and deal with it in the morning I didn't have much time before midnight. (I think a plan by disign) She got over on me with the second set but they paid timely.
Reading this board on how the seasoned NSA handle events like this kept my focus incheck I think you all for sharing. I'm a believer they will need me again one day ;-D they didn't report any mistakes which was very important to me. I made notes for the future. However, if I accept a signing with edocs for same day and I'm contacted @ 8:30 pm a lot of variables will come into play. I would work for them again. They cut their checks on the 20th of the month Central Florida Closing LLC Palmetto, FL 34221
