FYI: Internet Explorer 7 and current Mozilla FireFox

So far both have screwed up my accounts at several Title and Insurance Company Dashboards. the IT guys at the Title Companys tell me that I should not have installed new versions without checking with the companys I had acounts with since neither IE7 nor the current FireFox are comatible, As it is especially with IE7 the new *.cab files also don't come off when your do an uninstall of IE7 and the remaining cabinet files continue to screw up the mainframe interface. So be careful, if youare interfacing with a large mainframe check with their IT guys before you change from IE6. The primary reason is not the IE6 or the Firefox but the ability of the people who maintain the mainframes to respond and convert to the changes in IE7 and Firefox.

I find that most companies that use an Active X or other MS proprietary interface only found in IE, would not be Firefox compatible no matter what version of Firefox you have. One thing nice about Firefox is that there is an add-on called "IE View" that will display any page you currently are seeing, by opening the same page in IE. Firefox can also 'remember' (if you tell it) to always open a particular page (actually all pages on a site) with IE.

There have been so many problems with IE7 that I am thankful that I can't use it. I have two IT 'customers' that have screwed up their systems so bad by installing IE7 that we had to reinstall XP and IE6. (The recovery mode didn't work at all!)

I had to System Restore to August 26 to get rid of all the problems for installing IE7. I have learned the hard way to leave well enough alone!!!!!
