Fax's

Has any one out there used or know anything about e-fax? Its an on line service that lets you send and receive faxes via e-mail. It sounds like a convenient way to fax with one less office machine.

I used e-fax for a while. It was ok if you are only sending 1-2 faxes but gets very time consuming if you are sending any more due to the fact that you have to scan everything first.
It's fine if you are receiving faxes. But I have to say that I did break down and buy a fax maching, signed up for Vonage and got my self a separate line for it too.
Well worth the $$ as far as I'm concerned.

For some reason my e-faxes were not real clear, they had a gray
fuzzy kind of background. I now use a regular laser fax and the "clarity"
is great.

I use myfax and have no problems with it once i learned the ropes. My printer uses paperport whan I scan the doc's in. You have to be sure its not set on greyscale when you scan. I set on black and white and have excellent quality. I use a Brother MFC 8220 because it has a doc feed and I can email/fax directly from paperport. This costs me $10 a month for up to 200 pages.

I use Maxemail for receiving. All Fax's come as pdf files so I can print on my laser-jet.
I also have Paperport which is great but too time consuming for everyday fax sensing.
I bought the Cannon L170 faxphone for all sending. I've had it for about 8 months and it has really speed-ed things up.
It has a 50 sheet document feeder and it scans to memory and then sends. It will scan 30/40 pages in a couple of minutes and I can walk away. It is set to print a completion report and to give a audible alarm on error.
I just feed it and leave it.
