Fiserv and BGC

I received a letter with my payment from Fiserv today. It states that effective Oct 1, 2006 they are requiring Closing Affiliate Vendors to submit and pass a criminal Back Ground Check (CBC). They have to options for this:

1. Cred Star, WHich is a Fiserv Lending Soulutions company for $23
and
2. NNA. They also say that Fiserv does not require their vendors to be members of the NNA.

They then give directions on how to submit for the check for either option.

NNA has coupled BCG with its certification process. Membership in the NNA or the signing agent section remain as two other components. Membership in the NNA is the core element in all of their programs. Seperate fees apply to all components.

Thank you. I was aware of that, was just curious (as shown by the "YET" in my OP) if they had changed their tactics. Wink I'm waiting to see how far they are willing to push it.

It appears that they've only coupled it with membership in the signing section, not certification. There are 4 different icons that can appear next to the names when you do a search - CNSA with background check, CNSA, NSA with background check, and NSA. Names are grouped in the listing in that order.

It would be nice if they would also list the names by distance from the requested zip code, the way it's done here. They do it in zip code order, which is kind of dumb and not too helpful. When I checked for notaries within 10 miles of my zip code, the ones furthest from my zip code appeared higher up on the list than I did.

Earlier in the year, they requested a BGC from me, I obliged, but they never asked for a penny.
