Frustrated!-Long

I went to a signing on Saturday afternoon. I had to call and bug for title docs, bo's were supposed to get O/N docs. I get to the appt and there are only 2 forms to be filled out, and neither one of them needed to be notarized. It still didn't make sense to me, but ok. Have them sign the 2 pages and title docs and tried to call the emergency number. Waited 30 minutes or so. Nobody called back so I left.

Yesterday I call title and tell them there was only 2 docs that needed to be signed, they said that doesn't sound right. I said I agree, the bo's had a stack of 30 pages that said borrower's copies on them but there were no originals. I was told they had to call to find out what was going on. I called numerous times yesterday to see what they wanted me to do. Today I get a call back, there was a mix up on their end and could I go back out on Friday. I say sure. I'll be paid full fee for Saturday, correct? No, it would be half. I've gotten full fee before when I spent TIME there, this wasn't a no sign. I was told that this was their policy when a signing didn't get completed. The best they could do was about 60% of my fee, even though it was not my fault that the correct loan docs weren't there as they were supposed to be.

Sorry just needed to vent.

Hi Cassie

whew "this was their policy when a signing didn't get completed" seems to me to be very "flexible" in determining who gets what pay. I think unless I got a super amount of business from these folks that I would plant my feet firmly on "the assignement WAS completed", full payment due. You did the signing, not for us to determine what the heck is going on with docs delivered to BO. It's Title's mistake, they should take the hit. Think of the precedence this would set if they all took that stand!

Hi Sue

I hope you're feeling better. I'm going to call it a lesson. Be careful what I take and make absolutely sure borrowers have correct docs before going. I do get a decent amount from them each month. This hasn't happened before, the only time I've had a no sign from them I was paid full fee, now I think it's because the lady was on 3 way with the bo and the LO, and she could see what I was dealing with. The BO was yelling and cursing her LO for a good 40 minutes, I was there over an hour. Still though, this was not my fault. Thanks for listening to me vent. I feel better now.

Kadie, I was a nurse for over 20 years

before I became an NSA.
Although it is a cutthroat business, the cream always rises to the top.
My best advice would to not be emotional about any issues on this site or
at the signing. Always present yourself in a professional light, and most times
you will have a respectful response. There will always be others in this business
who are not able to do that, because they lack the education and integrity to do so.
Learn your states notarial laws, and maintain a professional image and demeanor,
just like you had to with your patients, their families, and the other professionals
you came in contact with in the medical industry.
Just be yourself, only better.

Not trying to make you feel worse, but it might......

have been ok if you had the bwrs sign the "copies",
and told the TC to make and send a copy set to bwr.

Re: Not trying to make you feel worse, but it might......

You're not making me feel worse, but I wasn't even sure what was supposed to be signed. I was told a refinance on the phone and when I got there the BO's said it was a loan mod. Which was why I tried to call the emergency number. I just don't think it would have been accepted anyway. Guess I'll find out on Friday what was supposed to be signed.

Ditto here, now *Bo* called me to sign tonite...

SS "checking" with boss to see if I can have the assignment!? It was the holiday eve, 90 min driving, 1 1/2 hours at the table, called appropriate contacts, their mistake on loan terms. What's not to pay? Sheesh!
