HELP WITH \HP LASERJET 1300
I've done searching with no results. My HP is blinking the bottom status light and wont stop. I've read at the HP website this could be a result of not having enough memory. Granted, a computer person I"m not.....but it seems to me that if I'm not printing something how can it be out of memory? I just wanted to get it back working. Any thoughts or assistance. Thanks Debi

I know its a pain, but I recently had a problem with a brand new HP 1320. HP support was very helpful.

What happens if you turn it off, wait a few seconds, and then turn it on again?

Are you out of paper? I know that sounds stupid but that is what mine does. Also, it blinks when it is ready to print something, say , letter size when you have legal paper in it. Have you tried pressing the green button? This probably wont help much. I actually purchased extra memory for mine last year on the advice of this forum. Do a search and you will find some info. Good Luck!

Unplug it and wait 2 or 3 minutes and see if it resets

That blinker can mean many things: -Low toner -Paper jam (include wrong size) -Maintenance due (fuser replacement) -Bad/defective memory -Bad sensor (motor transfer mechanism) -Bad connection
Cycling the power on/off don't always work as sometimes the machine is set up to continue after outage. Check your computer to see if there is any print job pending and cancel it. Also, try pressing the job cancel button on the printer before powering off.
If you will be in the market for a new printer soon, I suggest get one with a LCD control panel so you know exactly what's wrong next time.

Re: HELP WITH \HP LASERJET 1300 - THANKS
Thanks for all the great suggestions. The ones I've tried so far are to power it on and off, check the paper supply, go into the printers and fax setup and ensure everything is cancelled. I'm too beat right now to mess with it much more, but hopefully tomorrow either I get it fixed or contact HP support. Margaret....I've looked at hp.com and can't seem to find the support email link or phone #. Any help with that? Thanks again.
