Hi Everyone, it's been a while

since I messaged here. Has it been slow for you guys the last two months? I feel a terrible downfall and I'm actively looking for a....sniff, sniff.....J.O.B. now Frown September did me well, but Oct and Nov have crushed me.

I learned a lot, though. I learned that people (loan officers/title companies) never keep "promises" and don't appreciate all the work that you've done for them (not to mention the extra effort you put at night time to haul-ass down to that fed-ex station that closes at 7:30 p.m. to make the drop off for next morning's delivery. those cry babies should learn how to wait an extra day for their darn documents. Then they promise you they'll make it worth your while, they guarantee work, etc. I'm so naive!)

I learned that, when they get you all pumped up to work for them and let you charge them whatever the heck you want, it's all gonna end as soon as one of their buddies in the office gets their notary license and takes over your job. Then they just throw a dog bone at you once in a while. You know, the ones that are super far away, extremely late at night, and terribly last minute. You feel bad for not taking the job, because you're thinking what you did wrong for them to stop calling you.

I learned that there are a crapload of loan officers out there that have a BAD ATTITUDE and blame the notary for NO APPARENT REASON. I got my head snapped off by some witch, with an extremely capital B, because SHE screwed up the documents three times!!!

I learned that, when times get super tough, those 50/60$ companies make a bit of a difference. Unfortunately, I got spoiled w/ the $150+ company, and when I got replaced, I had no choice left but to go back to the drawing board. And even the markers for the drawing board ran out of ink, lol.

Well, we can only hope for a better market. Good luck and Happy Holidays, everyone!

Kiso,
I feel your pain, but it sounds like you've been doing this for awhile, don't give up the ship all togethr, especially if you've worked hard at getting where your at. Last April or May i forget which I had the worst month I had had in a year, and I'm soon going into my fourth year, but I hung in there, did alot more marketing and it swung around. I understand if you've got bills to pay because I'm not having a great month this month either after having a steller month last month, and it has me worried. Try to think postive, recontact all your good contacts and let them know your out there and ready to give them great service. Best of luck to you.

Yeah...this year has been a real roller coaster ride...slow for the first quarter, and October and November have been really slow in this area.

Looking at your website it seems as though you are "extremely" interested in selling health ins. than your notary services. What's the reason having NotaryPro (a national SS) banner on your home page? We know what NP pay and your fee schedule contradict that, unless....

From a client perspective, my first impression would be that my borrower is going to get solicit with your insurance craps. I did my personal refi last month and you would not believe how much mortgage life ins. junk I've gotten in the mail. Loan officers are sales people too. I think they striked first with attitude, unkept promises, and not appreciated knowing what you have under your sleeve.

Better get new marker and drawing board for your insurance stuff if you're serious about the notary business. Being an NSA create opportunities for direct contact with borrowers, but not the other way around.

I have to agree with Andy. When I first got involved with signing in 1993, the person I signed with told me that they would not use anyone with an insurance license. Simply because insurance agents were looking for lead sources so they used signing as a platform. I would take that button off of your website if you really want to do signings.

I don't find the button

as obtrusive as the tagline on every page to "click here for health insurance". The one tab at the top of the page is sufficient, if someone were to want more information on the insurance offered. Best solution would be to create a separate website for your health insurance platform. -- Hopefully, you don't list your other businesses on your notary business cards if you have them...Best to keep them (businesses)separated.

Re: I don't find the button

You guys are so right...I never realized that. Looks like I have some work to do...even though I never solicit with borrowers lol. But loan officers don't know that, so you guys are right. The fee schedule on my site contradicts NotRot because NotRot lets you go as high as $125 per signing, which was my old fee, then gas prices went bonkers so I had to up the fee.
