NNA was touting an agency that only charged 1/3 instead of the 1/2 generally charged by collection agencies, which used to be on their site, but you can call them if it's not still there. Haven't used it - I'm having pretty good luck with BBB online (nailed SOX, for instance...) Best of luck.

Where are they?
Any chance it is your same state? If so, check out small claims court. Get the application, fill it out, fax it over to the deadbeats with a note that if you have not been paid in 3 days, you will file. This give them time to work out payment with you and saves the hassle of paying the filing fees. Otherwise, let them have it.

Re: Where are they?
David, I have a co. that is in my state that I have been chasing for $$$. I have contacted every agency I could think of, but I haven't tried small claims yet. I have no idea how to do that, so I will start "googling" now! Thanks for the suggestion!

Re: Where are they?
In most states the clerk at the court house will provide you with the forms, and help you to fill them out

Hey Laurie
It wasn't Assured Settlement Group, L.L.C. was it? They took me for $150 and never would pay.

Re: Hey Laurie
Sorry, I just saw your post today, so you'll probably never see my response...but,just in case, it was American Deed.

Re: Hey Laurie
American Deed took 3 months to pay me. They told me that I needed to FAX our invoice to the attention of Terry Nichols (412) 220-2005. You could try that. Good Luck!

"As a benefit to our NSA Section members, the NNA has formed an alliance with Fidelity Information Corporation (FIC) to bring you professional collection services at exclusively low rates. It is often difficult to find a collection agency that will accept clients with few debts or with debts that are under $1,000 — but FIC accepts both.
FIC has two different collection methods from which to choose. One is Flat Fee based (meaning you pay a small, set fee). This is an online system that allows you to make selections from a menu of fully automated services, including collection letters, phone calls, reporting to Credit Bureaus, address verification, and more. The second method is Contingency based (meaning you pay a percentage of the total amount collected). This option allows you to hand over the entire debt collection process to FIC's professionally trained collection personnel."
Hope this helps.
