Just Need to Vent

I know this topic has been brought up before but, I just had to bring it up again. I know I am not that seasoned as a lot of people here( only 2 yrs.). But I have made this job part of my business and I have taken every advanatge to learn as much as I can everyday. I just can not believe there are soooo many people out there doing this job and taking less than $50.00. I got at least 3 calls yesterday and now 3 today and told them my fee and SA's says there are other notaries in your area doing it for much cheaper than you. Will you lower your fee my answer NO! If this is going to be my meat and potatoes I have to stick to my fees.

There probably aren't m/any people doing it for less. That's just the ploy they use to see if you'll come down. They will continue to shop and when they figure out that they are not going to find someone cheaper, they just go with the last person they talked to.

I agree with Lee - I am pretty much the only notary in my general area and they say that too. Let them find someone else cheaper. I can't afford to do this for charity.

And remember....they usually get what they pay for with low balling fees. I agree, stick to your price....let them take it or leave it!

One company wanted me today to drive 65 miles one way and do email for 75.00 its not worth it. It would cost me at least 50.00 to or more do go there.
