Good for you. I got contacted a few weeks ago and I told them I had another assignment but thanks for calling. Maybe someday when they can't find anyone to sign for them, they'll get the picture that if they paid their notaries they would actually have a good business going.

They'll get the picture quicker if you tell them "hell no" and the exact reason why instead of just saying you're already booked.
Not that they'll ever get the picture, but still.

Re: Yeah - it was kinda rude..and hindsight's 20/20 -
I should have let him go into his spiel and taken the opportunity to tell him MY spiel about the non-payment issues. Refer him to NotRot to get a signer..<G>
Now that's not rude - it's evil..

We should all take the opportunity to tell these "services" what they should hear. I did the same thing as you a couple of weeks ago when Accusigning of Loomis called me. Afterwards I kicked myself in the rear for not telling them about their payment practices.

Don't give an 'excuse'; TELL them why--No Pay
I'm sure it won't be the first time they've heard it, nor the last. But if they have made 2 dozen calls and every Notary told them "No thank you. SOX does not pay the Notary." Well, that will have a lot more impact than 'out of the last 2 dozen, 18 were booked, 3 hung up on me & 3 said 'No because we don't pay.'

Sox sure gets a lot of play.......
I've been reading about them since I first started reading this board. I got a call from awhile back, told them I wouldn't work for them because .. bla, bla, bla and have never heard from them again.

I could not believe it but the other day after reading the threads on this company, I shut down my PC and started heading out the door to a signing. I got a call from this company and started laughing. I think the guy thought I was crazy or something, to make a long story short I said no thank you. Thanks everyone for the information.

Just had a thought...do you think we should all send a "sympathy card" to the employees, and tell them how sorry we feel for them that they work for such a firm? I know people need to support themselves and/or family but at what cost?.

SOX looks for a notary with only some experience listed in their profile. They know thye have a better chance with sojmeone who is not aware of their NO payment policy.
