Just when you thought you heard it all
I am a fairly new notary. I have been lurking on this board since May. I got a signing last week that I thought had to be the signing to beat all. I was being sent out to a customer where there had been 3 different notaries involved. I am not sure which one did this but I was told that one of them ONLY printed the documents that needed to be notarized and sent those back to title. What the ??? I am a rookie but I know better than to do that. It is scary to me to know that there are people in this business that are that ignorant of the processes involved. Whew !

Happens all the time...
and we can thank the NNA for all their help in mass-marketing this business to everyone with a notary seal the past couple of years. Their "get rich quick" scheme has saturated most markets with Notaries Public that THINK they can perform loan signings because they are "certified" to do so. *sigh* That's ok... more $$ for me I make a bundle fixing screw-ups and use it as an opportunity to market my services, which are guaranteed error-free.

Re: Re:Deborah may I ask what area you cover?
I am in Sylmar so I cover San Fernando Valley but I have gone into SW LA for a signing or 2. I am also a background actor so I don't really want a full time notary job. Sorry for the late reply but I was on the set of CSI NY for 2 days and the days were very long.
