Loan Documents Now BGC

I just accepted a job from Loan Documents Now, I've never worked for them before, and there was a PS attached to the email saying that after December, they would not be able to use notaries who did not have the BGC. For those who have worked for them, did you receive this notice too?

Seemed almost like an afterthought on the email. I sent an email back asking what BGC's they accept.

Their reply

Doesn't have to be the XXX, just through a reputable company.

Re: Their reply

Cassie, does WI do a background check when issuing your commission? If so did you bring that up with that company?

Re: Their reply

I believe what Stamper told me is that at most, they run a state check, and they do not always do it. It's not very comprehensive, nothing like what CA does. I'm hoping Harry will have his program up and running soon.

The FBI BGC is pretty reputable, and inexpensive

I'd love to see what will happen in January if they can't get enough NSA's to sign w/o a BGC.
I'm not getting one yet, I haven't heard a peep from my regulars about it.
But, I am looking forward to seeing what's gonna happen.
My prediction: BGC requiring SS's won't be able to fill all the assignments, and they will have to send back to the TC's who will be hiring NSA's w/o BGC's at a higher fee than they would get if they went through the SS.
But if everyone rushes out to get them, we'll never know.
Wouldn't ya just love it if I was right about that?

Yes, ma'am I would. I'm still going to wait. Do you know how long it takes to get a BGC back from the FBI?

Cassie, I have no idea how long it would take, but since that is something routine for them,
I would think it would be a short turnaround time but that's only a guess.

if the title company requires the ss to use notaries who have had the checks, why do you think the title company will directly hire a notary w/o the check?
