Motorola Q - Phone/PDA
It's time for me to replace my 6 year old cell phone. It's really older than that I just don't want to admit it. I'm looking at phones that will allow me to check email/webmail when I'm away from home and office. I've done my research on Blackberries and TREOs. Has anyone heard any feedback (good/bad/ugly) on the Motorola Q sold by Verizon? I'm considering it because of the rebates and final cost. It also seems to have what I need. Thanks.

I have the Motorola Q. The only complaint that I have is the reception is not as good as my previous Verizon phone because of the lack of an external antennae. The battery life could be better, but I have it programed to check new email every 15 minutes, so I have to remember to plug it into the car charger whenever I am in the car. As long as you don't mind the size, I have been very happy with the phone. I can send email updates and update websites as soon as I leave the borrower's home.

I could recommend you both the blackberry is a great phone and hold lots of memories and you able to send/recd email & browse the internet but it has no camera
On the other hand the treo 700W is a great phone it has everything from above and it also has a camera & expandsion lot. You could use office in your pda as well becuase it is a window base.

Thanks, Marlene.
I forgot about the camera and since I don't use a camera very much....I might want to go Blackberry instead. Decisions. Decisions.

Re: Thanks, Marlene.
I have the Blackberry through Verizon and I love it. Over the past few years, I have had 2 Blackberries prior to this one, one through Sprint and one through TMobile... Verizon, by far is the best. However, TMobile offers the new Blackberry Pearl that has the camera function and I would get it, but it is offered through TMobile and to me, the service isn't very reliable.
The Treo is a good phone, but I have found that it is not as easy to navigate nor is it as email and internet friendly as the Blackberry. (Perhaps because Blackberry has its own server). All in all, I'd recommend the Blackberry! Good luck in your search.

I'm sold!
I'll go ahead with Blackberry. You convinced me. Verizon's service here in my "neck of the woods" is very good. I'm switching from Sprint (which is ---- poor). I'm tired of missing emails that get submitted via my website. I'm losing money!

Glad I could help. You'll find it to be a lot of help and fun! Blackberry.com has a lot of information and tips and even downloads for your device. I guess I should also mention that I am a gadget girl!!!!

One More Question, LaShawn
Who helps me set up my Blackberry? Will Verizon walk me through getting my email added to the Blackberry, or do I have to contact my ISP?

Re: One More Question, LaShawn
Sorry, I missed this last question... Generally, when you purchase the BB your service provider, Verizon in this case, should be helpful in setting it up for you. They are pretty helpful and patient. I can help you with it if you need me to. I have used a blackberry for several years and consider myself pretty proficient, so I am here to help!
