My apologies

I want to say that I am so sorry for bringing up this whole background check again. I have just finished reading all the comments and threads on this subject. Although I have worked in the profession for the past 5 years, I am new to the forum. What a sore subject, but at least I have the views of many other notaries on it. And there is no need for nastiness just because it is a worn out subject........it is still a subject worth discussing.

Annette, many don't research before a post; ESPECIALLY when there is a huge marketing agency that is putting pressure on notaries (now that they have put same pressure on title companies) to conform.

Without taking your head off - PLEASE take the tiime to properly research the topic. It is a sore one, and one that will ultimately cost the notary....NOT the title company and CERTAINLY NOT THE LENDER (with whom this ultimately sits...squarely in their laps).

Take the time to spend a few hours. Search the Board, adn DON'T react. Make the best decision you (as an independent contractor) can make.

This is truly very important.......OH ON SO MANY LEVELS!! (hope jjl willforgive me!)

Annette you sound like a reasonable person. Please do your homework. Bless you in your self-emloyment.

Regards,
TitleGal

So you had a little light reading last night?

lol. Good morning, Annette Smile
I hope you didn't think me rude for suggesting that you search the topic in your earlier message. I am glad you did, and even more pleased that you read the threads. The BGC issue is very important and does deserve attention. Furthermore, you're absolutely right... it is worth discussing.
The issue I have with the BGC isn't the BGC or compliance training... I am all for it! I have a problem with a private enterprise marketing-machine threatening us through the people we work for (TC's, Lenders, etc), and clearly misrepresenting the facts to everyone, solely for the purpose of lining their pockets.
Happy Monday! Hope everyone's prepared for EOM Smile
