I have been having a hard time getting my BGC done through the NNA. I put my application in on 11/3 and it has yet to be completed. The company in charge of it Signix/sunguard who utilizes Lexis Nexis and the NNA have been giving me the big old run around. Every time I try to complain to a supervisor at the NNA nobody ever gets back to me. They should be ashamed of themselves. And the company Signix is USELESS. I always get the same guy. Nate and he is sarcastic and unprofessional. Do yourself a favor and stay away from them. It has now been 27 days (they said it would take 10-15) and they just faxed me the "NEW" Penndot form last night because the one I filled out on the 17th was the "OLD" form. Find a different company.

I paid for my BGC on 10/19/06 and still haven't gotten it back. The NNA told me that they haven't started on mines yet but referred me to Signix.

Unbelievable Debra, I applied for mine ......
on 11/10/06 and had it a week later. Why some of us get it done rather quickly and others have to wait forever, with dumb excuses, makes no sense at all. I agreed with those that thought that the NNA was rather rude with their tactics but gave in to the $40 because I didn't want to deal with it anymore. I'm sure they hit your credit card the next business day, how disappointing to have them drag their feet after your willingness to comply.

Let me say this in the nicest possible way...
IMHO, this is a savvy marketing-know-how organization with a Super-P.T. Barnum-type at the helm.
Don't worry, if you don't give them your money, lots and lots of unsuspecting people will. It is sad.

Are these the same experts that train newbies to do Notaries? Are these the same experts that train newbies to visit forums such as this to ask "what is a Jurad acknowledgement?" Are these the same experts that train newbies to call around and find a seasoned vet to mentor them? Are these the same experts that train newbies to accept $75 for an edoc signing 45 miles away?
I think you get my drift.

Now that you have all plunked your money down...
how many companies were calling you and asking for BGC's before you pitched your $ to NNA? And for the few who have obtained their "clearances" how many companies have called you since?

Re: Now that you have all plunked your money down...
Why in the world are people paying out their money without waiting to see what happens after the first of the year??? Until I see something from the State or I am asked by everyone that I do business with to do a clearance save your money. Todate no one has asked for any such clearance. I'll take Harry's advice and take a "wait see" attitude. JMO

John, great point. I hope everyone paid attention to your point and let it sink in . I have yet to be asked for a BGC. My phone continues to ring and I continue to get work.

Free Background report
One of the signing companies for one of the big lenders sent me a form saying they needed to run my background per the new rules. I filled it out and they said I had a right to a copy if I wanted it. They ran it through Axicom and ....whew I passed(guess they never found out about those axe murders(yes I am just kidding). Anyway, I now have a free copy in my file. If another party calls, hey, I just offer to email it to them(I scanned it).
They ran it at their own expensive. Did not cost me any cash.
