Name Badge
A few months ago, I had a name badge made up at my local stationary store. ($11.00). It just has my name and Notary Public under my name.
Last night while at a closing, the Mrs. was rather "distant" towards me and then she saw my badge. She asked me, "Are you related to _______?" I said, "Yes, he's my son". Come to find out she works with my son, and that broke the "ice".
2 days ago I closed for a physician and his wife. His comment was, "I like your name tag. It's very professional". 
The one problem I have is forgetting to take it off. I stopped at a store in another town and was speaking with the owner. When I got ready to leave, she said, "Have a good night, Pamela" I thought, "wow.. how did she know my name? I've never been in that store before". When I entered my vehicle, I looked down and had on my name badge!
As an added note, I also leave behind a business card, and for e-docs, I staple my business card to the outside of the folder of the borrowers copy.

Good Morning ! Happy Thanksgiving ! Yes, it surely pays to be as professional as possible. It's a small world is'nt it. You meet a lot of people that know the same people as you. You and I live in rather small areas. Also , always carry your stamp with you. I've had the Vet, the Dentist and just about everyone ask at least once to notarize something. Takes a little off the bill as well. lol
