OT- Seeing double

Just wondering if anyone has had a Cornea Transplant? I had one last Thursday and have not been able to work yet. I hate turning down signings or notaries. I can handle small notarizations though. Everything I see with my left eye is so distorted, especially at night with the lights. Each single light seems like a Christmas wreath! It's pretty entertaining actually but very distracting. So driving is out of the question until it goes away. The Doctor said it could take up to 6 months...Wow.
Just wondering what experiences one of you might have had.

I haven't had a cornea transplant, but I had PRK laser (ends up as monovision). I had the same symptoms as you are experiencing - it does get better, and yes, it took 6 to 8 months to "adjust". The night driving was horrible - I tried not to go out after dark, or if my husband was home I'd have him drive me.

You're vision will get better as time goes on. Do tell your opthomologist EVERYTHING you experience that you find frustrating. My Dr. actually had to do a "readjustment" with laser (only on one of the eyes). The readjustment wasn't done until after 6 months, then it took about 3 more months to be fine.

Bottom line - I'm happy with it Smile
