OT What is in the air lately?

I have a scanner that I keep running in the background for the noise, and to help see what roads I should avoid due to accidents. The past 2 days have been CRAZY! Usually it's mostly accidents, fires, speeding, etc. Minor things. In the last 2 days there have been 8 kidnapping/abduction calls, 13 stolen vehicles, 43 attempted suicides, 2 suicides, and 22 hit and runs. (My son likes to keep track of statistics). Is it the upcoming meteor shower or what?

Lisa,

I don't envy your husband!! Talk about a stressful job! My Dad was a cop for the Sheriffs dept for a long time. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon enough for him to have a somewhat peaceful Thanksgiving!

Ahhh...yessss
The onset of the Holidays. The plethora of emotions ... Good will to men and all that. Accompanied by depression, stress, pity, elation, empathy, happiness, sorrow...etc
The entire roller-coaster ride, with seating for both the 'haves' and the 'have-nots'.
Let the joyous precedings begin!

Mung...

This weekend we will have a meteor shower that will be incredible to watch, especially for those in the eastern states. So many "falling stars" per minute that you won't be able to count them. This event only comes around once every 40 years, the last was in 1966. Don't know that I will be able to see much of it, but I'm gonna try anyway!

Huntin'

We've already had 2 fall out of their tree stands and die. One had a heart attack.
One gave himself carbon monoxide poisoning from his heater in his tent. And this
is only the second day of hunting season.
