Raise a glass!
By the by, bless our precious Veterans this hour...and every hour.
Part of an Oral History Project I caught on Public Radio traveling the Central Oregon Coast US Highway 101, hosted by Walter Cronkite, were six WWI Vets from the age of 104 to 110 years of age, sitting around a round table, talking about the War. Real treat of a History lesson, I'm going to get a tape for Dad. And my Dad, who'll be 83 in January, a proud Navy Man who served on the USS Guam in the Battle of Okinawa, WWII, says to Americans Everywhere, "Soldiers crawl on our bellies. Keep us nourished, informed, well-protected, and armed. Know the Enemy, and make wise counsel. And keep us from WWIII."
Raise a glass for our Soldiers, then and now.

Thank you Susan. I am a proud vet, I toast and I salute all the vets before me as well as todays vets and the ones yet to come. I think we can agree that it is the sacrifice of vets that enables all of us to voice our opinions and enjoy the basic freedoms that we have. On this day I raise my glass to my fellow vets and say - We served with honor, dignity and humility and would do so again to preserve the freedom we all treasure.

It is I who thanks you, sir.
And anyone interested in The WWI Living Histories Project CD (for a mere $15), or to just listen the stories of the 14 remaining WWI Veterans (apologies for my memory lapse,) can go to http://www.treehouseproductions.org/index.aspo
