Sick of all the requests to...

backdate and/or to send them an ack to go with a doc the borrower didn't sign in front of me. I've had at least 4 requests in the last 2 weeks.

Today I get a call from a TC stating that the lender is picky, and the borrowers signatures are not perfectly consistant throughout the loan package. They are having the borrower sign a couple more sig affs with sigs that look like ones on some of the docs. They wanted me to send acks to go with those affs. The one person argued with my via email for 2 hours. I said I'd be happy to bring the affs to their home, or he could get them notarized at work, but no, since I already notarized him, why couldn't I just send them a couple acks?! AARRRHHHHH!!!!!

My last email said "When I used to work for _TC, we would have gotten fired on the spot for making the request you did of me. We could not backdate, or even leave a signed ack at the recording desk for emergencies.. So what happened? I never would have though that ________ would have lost so much integrity and let his company get this way." I didn't hear back, I'm guessing they forgot I used to work there, and am still good friends with several branch and county managers.

Follow the law, no company is worth losing your license or even going to jail for...

Did you ever stop to think "someone" IS

filling these "requests" to backdate or send an all purpose ack. to these companies?
I've turned them down and they have thanked me and hung up.....soooo doesn't it stand to reason that they have found a person willing to go along with them and risk their commission and possibly face a fine or jail time? I wonder what these notaries think when we post that we refuse to disobey the laws?
