Signing Fees

Okay, so is everybody sick of companies offering only $65 for closings? I have found over the last six years that if you stick to your guns, companies will pay at least $150. I charge this for ALL my closings - regardless! All pay and for those that don't, I don't sign for them. They are making big money and wanting to pay us peanuts! It would be nice if all notarys charged their true worth - at least $150 with no backing down.

I totally agree. I turn down a lot of low payers. They never call back , I wonder who is taking them in my area.....no self worth I guess.

not only are companies offering us this low ball price, but a friend did a survey of about 20 in this area asking their prices ... MOST quoted $65-75 ... they do not have the confidenence to charge a fee that is worthwhile... so no wonder the companies only offer that... they can find a ton of notaries who will work for that... regardless of the distance or the documents.
