Toner cartridge leaking on the left side?? Brother MFC 8840D
I noticed smudged ink on the left side of the docs... Opened up the printer looked inside and the ink cartridge is leaking on the left side...
Going to clean it up and replace cartridge, but I was wondering if anyone has had this problem before?? I'm praying it's a cartridge issue and not a printer issue... TIA

There is a button that you slide across right on the Drum ( the thing you slide the cartridge into) that cleans it. On my MFC8220 it must be all the way to the left and it's blue. If not it leaks toner and creates a a streak down the left side

Thanks Stamper... I'll try that again once I replace the ink
cartridge. When I pull out the ink cartridge it is leaking on the left side... So I hope replacing it and cleaning the drum will do the trick.. I was just worried because I've never had that problem before with any printer. My brother is only about 8 months old. Hoping it's not a brother issue...

Thanks Zee... Mine is on the left.. I think it's more of a
cartridge issue... I hope it is anyway... Thanks again!

#$%^$# don't remind me...
Yellow toner.... had to replace it this weekend.... grrr....
I have an Oki 5150 color laser that I am otherwise very happy with (I have other pursuits that require color printing and it's cost and speed on black's not so bad so I can use it for loan docs too)
Anyway, something went haywire with Yellow toner #1 and it never quite worked right and had to be replaced a little early. Always leaks a tiny bit... don't really want to replace the drum if I can avoid it. #2 started warning me a while back, but I know yellow's screwy so I put off getting another... Friday it up and quit. I had no replacement so I had to pay Staple's price #@$%^$ $109 ($85 or so on-line)....
Gotta order the others now before I forget.
Anyway, having said all that I've had this printer 2 years in March, have installed another for a client and recommended a third to a friend. I'm still pleased... fast good quality and cheap on consumables. I highly recommend the Oki if you need color.
