Upgrading to Elite Question w/ Paypal
Hey I tried upgrading to Elite. I did it with paypal. I noticed that paypal expects us to deposit money and treat it like an account. Is this new? Anyhoo, if anyone at Notary Rotary sees this, please cancel out the error message again and I'll pay with another method.

Paypal is a mess
Paypal is always trying to get into our bank accounts.
If they were more hacker-proof I wouldn't mind.
Skip PayPal Send harry a ck.

Paypal --Two friends have had problems.
Two friends have had problems with someone improperly using their Paypal accounts. It took both a long time to get it straigthened out and Paypal was NOT easy to deal with.
I would not give Paypal access to any account or line with much money in it. I link to an account with almost no money in it. Then I transfer money in and then to Paypal. Granted it takes a few day longer to get stuff shipped, but possession is 9/10ths of the law. If there is no money to take, you do not have to chase Paypal to get it back. With electronic banking it easy to transfer money in on an as needed basis.
I laugh at all the BOGUS paypal emails I get. I have not purchased anything in almost two years, so when I get one saying there was a problem with the transfer etc. I know immediately it was bogus. Got one yesteradys EABY.com saying there was a problem, yes, the meant EBAY, but it was spelled EABY.com on a close read.
I am very cautious on Paypal.

Re: Paypal --Two friends have had problems.
I've been using PayPal as a business entity for more than 10 years with nary a problem. Like David said, keep it linked to a bank account that is set up strictly for that purpose (with minimal funds) just in case. Arrange with the bank to not allow automatic debits from the account.
I have a few "rules" about using PayPal: I don't allow companies or individuals to pay for my notary or signing services via PayPal. I only use PayPal for e-commerce: selling stuff from my own store or buying from others online.
Any email request for verifying information on your PayPal account is probably a fake attempt for access to your account. The PayPal TOS states exactly how they will contact you if there is problem. And, if you think you got a scam or phishing email, send it to PayPal for verification BEFORE you take any action. Chances are, PayPal will say it is bogus.

Re: Paypal ( try [e-mail address] )
Never give any information for reequest from PayPal without first checking directly with PayPal. I called them to ask why I was getting request from them about my account. I had only used them once and that was on a credit card payment. They said they had not sent the email and asked me to send them a copy ( which I did ) to Spoof@ Paypal.com. Everytime I get another I forward it on, and they always turn out to be pfishing scammers. The emails come in about once a month, and I finally asked Paypal to delete my name from their files. They told me as I had only used Paypal once, I really didn't have an account , ( I had paid by credit card ). Needless to say, that made me very happy ( to know I did not have an account w/them so I do not have to worry ). Also I get numbers of emails about my account with Ebay, which I obviously do not have as I have never used Ebay for anything. After all of the emails I get about sellers being disappointed that I did not pay them, I will probably never use Ebay. Please beware of Phishers for Paypal and Ebay. Hope this helps
