Vetrans Day Rescission
Can anyone let me know what today's rescission will be? I rarely do signings around holidays. Thanks a bunch! [e-mail address]

Re: Veterans Day Rescission
Tiffany there is also a great list of rescission dates in the NotRot library. Just sign in, go to the library and click rescission dates. It gives you the date that needs to be filled in. Very easy to use. The calendars are also there if you prefer them.

Re: Veterans Day Rescission
Tiffany,
Please do not just go by what the rescission calandar says, call the escrow officer or lender. Some lenders are not counting Friday as a rescission day...some are...some are not counting Saturday as a rescission day...some are...
From the loan signings I have done in the past couple of days I would say 50% of the lenders are going with Friday not being counted and the other 50% are going with Saturday not being counted.

Re: Veterans Day 11/11 IS ALWAYS A HOLIDAY
>>> some are not counting Saturday as a rescission day...some are... <<<
By statute, published legal public holidays, and November 11th is one them, are always a holiday and not counted for rescission purposes. Lenders do not have choice of not counting a holiday when the statute (5 USC 6103) mandates it. Observed holidays are just that ... observed. They are not treated as the actual holiday for rescission purposes by statute. However, lenders have the right to add to the rescission period, over and above the published government holidays and Sundays.
There are four holidays that fall on specific dates: January 1, July 4, November 11 and December 25. All other holidays fall on computed dates, such as "the third Monday in February" or "the last Monday in May".
