Your chuckle for the day!
This is from a Title company no less. $50 bucks for a a round trip of approx. 58 miles. Told her my fee , and she responded with "we have a cap" Blah, blah. I told her "I have a BASE fee, which we are unable to lower to accommodate any company." This is my business and my fees are set by me. Good bye ! End of that story.
Now I ask you all, what are these people going to do when our fees go to a base of $250 if this cock-a-mamie GBL thing'ie ever comes to pass. More cost for us , just higher fees for them. Plus they will be helping us to put the Lowball notaries OUT OF Business.
Knew you'ed get a kick out of this one. $50 in American money, WOW! lol

Gee...how could you turn that down? LOL
It never ceases to amaze me what these companies want for lower and lower fees. As I was talking to one TC today I got to thinking....what other business can you go to and say:"Well I ONLY pay $75 for that". Next time I go to the Dr I think I'll tell them, I have a cap on fees and I will only pay $2.00" You can bet I won't see the Dr.! I have one client, a TC, that I do give a somewhat reduced fee as a volume discount, they've always been good about paying regularly, at least within 30 days, but now all the sudden payments are really sporadic and I still have outstandings from them for September! They want to be able to call us at the last second, have us print out 2 copies of the docs, which takes almost 1/2 ream of paper, drive 25 miles one way, present the docs, come back, fax back 10-12 pages of fax backs, then drive to the local fed ex which is 10 miles away, ( and that we passed on the way back to fax them the docs), to drop the docs. and then want us to take a WHOPPING $50.00 + 25 for the edocs. Hmmmm...1/2 a ream of paper, 70 miles round trip, + toner, wear and tear on our car, wear and tear on our ofc machines, and at least 2 hours of our time for a lousy $75? hahahahahahahahahahahahaha! AND then they expect to get experienced notaries for that price!!!!! Sorry, but this is a major pet peeve of mine! No other service type business ALLOWS the customer to set the price, except us. What's wrong with this picture? No other customer would even think about going into a store and telling them "I only pay this much." GRRRRRR! Have a good night everyone!
