a sluggish market makes us vulnerable

recently i have received calls marketing services and/or offering opportunities for additional income. as notaries we are valuable commodities for 'companies' seeking 'representatives' for some product or another and while these may be legitimate offers, there are some not so legitimate. just be careful out there and don't let the market slow down cause you to act rashly.

Let's see...I have had a national title company asking if I wanted to solicit local work for them but never could get a figure on what they'd pay per deal (wonder why), a gal trying to get me to sell shopping cards, a notary database trying to get me to get more notaries into their fold and I'd make a percentage each month on their membership fee...yep...Cassandra is right.

To say nothing of all the offers (several a day) to help some poor sole in Africa who wants to transfer money into my account in exchange for a small favor, out of the goodness of his/her heart. Some of these are getting more and more creative...

I think it's partly just because our publicly listed contact info makes us accessible.
