multiple signers, only one person present!
I have a quick question regarding a re-fi doc signing that required the signatures or two people and only one person was there! He had assumed that his wife wasn't on the loan but forgot she was on title and still needed to sign. I still did the signing for him but need to make sure I perform hers correctly. A separate Ack./Jurat is needed for her with that corresponding date right? What else do I need to do besides call the title co. Much thanks from a "still new and learning" Loan Signer.

A couple of questions...was her name on any of the docs? When you confirmed did you ask if a spouse was available? This will happen again and again...ALWAYS call whoever hired you from the table to let them know what's going on. I once had one where the husband was actually at work in another city at the appointed time and I called SS first to ask them how they wanted to handle the second signing as this would change the confirmed payment.

her name was on some of the docs, and I am learning that the confirmation, which I usually do, is necessity! I think the only reason I did not was because it was a last minute call late wed. night and Thanksgiving and all. I appreciate it!

Oh dear, I am only going to give you my advise because none of the more experienced signers have posted yet....call the borrower immediately and ask when (today/tonight) the wife will be available to sign and then get over there. You might have to meet her at her office or somewhere in between but this loan is not going anywhere without her signature. I'm sure you'll get responses that are more informative but it looks like it has been over an hour since you posted.

I put a sign by my phone to remind me to ask about a spouse
until I got in the habit. Nothing is going anywhere without that sig. Good luke!
