if you have to attach an ack, do you turn it back to back of orig ack that is crossed out, and staple top corner, and bottom opposite corner..........this just seems so not right. I would prefer to just emboss.

WHAT? You do not turn it back to back & you staple just the

left side top corner. Where did you come up with these directions?

I just went through my notes from school, and found where the instructor stated to staple the documents top/bottom turn page back to back. He stated this was the safest way he found to attach a notarized form that could not be removed and reused. The reason I put myself out there for your most intelligent responses was...I had not seen this stated by anyone else, and did not find it in the orange search button, and it just seemed that using an embosser would be better. I won't ask another question in this forum. I want to thank the 2 of you for making me feel welcome.

DPazCA, don't take it personally. I think the comments were

directed more at the person who gave you those directions than they were for you...
How you attach the doc is up to you and what you're comfortable with.. AS LONG AS YOU ATTACH IT (also I'd make it clear on the cert what doc it's attached to, perhaps write on the top of the cert attached to a grant deed of 17 pages dated such and such)
Sounds like the directions you were given are what makes your instructor happy. Honestly, I think is will pixx off the companies you work for... Find what works for you. Remember ultimately you're responsible...

Good Luck, and don't stop posting...

Absolutly directed to the person directing you. I guess

everyone has their own way of doing things, just never heard of it instructed that way. Keep posting, much info worth sticking with it here.

In Alabama we must emboss. The instructor was telling you what works for him. If I have to attach an ack, I would just staple it on the top left habd corner. Never had a problem with that. Don't stop posting becasue you were insulted, it happens all the time here! Smile Good luck.

Charm, what kind of embosser do you use? I use mine only

when I volunteer at the senior center... I hate it, it's very hard to use. There is no way I could emboss two pages together as I've heard others do... I can barely stand one page at a time... Maybe I'm just old....

I've had title companies ask me not to staple, and to just note that there is an attached ack.
I make sure to clearly identify, at the bottom of the acknowledgement, the doc (dot, etc) that it is appurtenant to.
