uh, we're INDEPENDENT contractors

I've been working with this company that usually has a few other mobile closers in the office to close loans besides me. I've been talking to one who's been peppering me with questions, basically looking for leads. I give him a few names of SSs that I don't really use - not crappy ones by any means, but, people that I choose to not work with anymore. Obviously there's a fine line between helping somebody out and giving away your own business, and, TBQHWY, I don't really like him that much. But that's not the point of the story. Today we're talking, again, and he's amazed at the work that I'm getting. Finally, I ask, "Are you doing any marketing at all?"

I get a blank stare. "Huh?" he says. He expected that his NNA certification would just have them knocking down his door. I'm like, "No, you need to call or email these people!"

"Nobody ever told me that before."

WOW.

That information was in the $45.00 additional information package he did not buy!

It would have been printed on a 1/4 sheet of paper so the NNA could save $.

And for more of the story... A young mother of 4 children plunks down her $ to the NNA to become "certified"... no one told her it wasn't a 9-5 job..which was what she was looking for. They "encourage" the newbies to find a mentor because what they teach isn't even close to what they need to know. She was shocked at our first meeting to find out that "prime time" is 5 pm to 9 pm.
And nope.. didn't tell her she had to do all of her own marketing. She didn't even know where to begin!

Excellent examples of two people that did not do their due diligence and do not belong in this business.

Some people are just not cut out to be self employed. Some have no initiative and would rather stand around and wait for someone to tell them what needs to be done. If you are one of these types...save your money and don't get into this profession.
