Tamara, Re: yeah me!
Congratulations!
I am also suggesting the following:
First, to always research a company (if possible) before accepting an assignment. Read the various notary forums as to the "Yes" and "No" companies. Very interesting reads. . .
Secondly, if a signing agent contract is required, read it thoroughly. In this way, you will know what to expect in the event of a cancellation, "no-show" etc. . . If there isn't a contract, verbally inquire. In this way, there will be no surprises. And, you will also know when to reasonably expect your payment.
Third, always receive the fee confirmation in writing, BEFORE printing documents. Even if there are changes (such as an "unexpected" Piggy Back or Split-signing). Remember as a famous commercial says: "Don't leave home without it!" ("smile"
Fourth, complete your profile on Notary Rotary (as it is now blank). For ideas, check-out other notaries' profiles.
Fifth, create a webpage.
Again, Congratulations!
Pam

First Choice On No-No List
Tamara,
Congratulations! For the most part they pay, but it is very slow!!! We will NOT do any further signings for Jarrod or Rudy because it took over a year to get payment for a 2nd trip (lenders error not ours). Plus almost a year to get payment for loan signings that were canceled once all docs were signed and returned. Rec'd only partial payments, which turned into a major hassle with them. They are now on our no-no list. It took several demand letters to receive even the partial payments. We completed the jobs without errors and should never have to chase after monies. Good luck.
