A thought about the Holidays and shipping.
Gee, only two months left in the year. Where has it gone?
Every year at this time, there seem to be a lot of shipping problems with all the carriers. Now might be a good time to verify and write down the shipping schedules for all your local shippers and pin it on the wall next to your computer. The schedules can vary by area and population density. The company hiring you may not be familiar with the shipping schedules in your particular area and will need to be informed at the time they are contracting for your services. A little preparation now will save a lot of shipping headaches later ...

Good tip for always
I find that most companies aren't aware of your local shipping schedule and some are shocked when I tell them we have to have FedEx by 4pm, UPS by 5pm and no Saturday shipping! I always inform a company if I forsee that I won't be able to ship out same-day. It saves me a headache later when they are yelling for their docs.

Re: Good tip for always
My favorite was a signing I got that was scheduled for 5:30 pm on a Saturday. The confirmation arrived with a note saying that they wanted the docs back on Monday. Who in their right mind would think that's a possiblity with Fed Ex?
And then for good measure, the company that sent the docs out didn't mark them for Saturday delivery so it was all moot anyway.

Also be aware that in cases of forecasted or actual inclement weather, even the "posted" times may not be valid. It's not unusual for shippers to move up deadlines without notice so they can get all their trucks in the station and the packages shipped out.
