Anyone been called greedy?

Got a calll from a SS whom I had done a signing for about 6 mos ago for $105. Wanted me to do a re-fi with overnight docs. Brw was about 40-45 mins from me. SS offered me $65, I told her $105 and she proceeded to call me greedy. I politely bid farewell without calling her cheap!

Good for you Nick! Not sure I could have responded without

calling them cheap...
Yes, I've been called greedy before... My response was... "How much are you getting? Okay, I'll split it with you. That seems fair to me how about you?" Then they either hung up on me (or if you want to give them the benefit of doubt, we were disconnected...)

UUGH, how much work do they expect us to do with such little pay. I'm tired of these signing services asking us to do signings that have email docs and only offering to pay $65-$85, and reaping a profit at our expense. I bust my butt all day, with driving, signings, fax backs, trips to kinkos/fedex and ups.

I will not accept a loan signing job with edocs under $100.00 and when I do print them I will selectively. I think the amount of ink, my time and wear on my printer, printing their docs isn't worth $25.00 will I get less work maybe but its okay with me. Traveling I cut my distance.

I've found my comfort zone with this business I love the concept, but I will take my time and market my services until I get lucky.

Too many SS want free services and lack of respect is a turn off

Nick, Re: Anyone been called greedy?

Several weeks ago, had a request (from an out-of-state signing service) to do a very late
evening signing, way out of my service area (and "over the hills and through the woods",
literally), for $65.00. Said that clients already had docs. Told her no. Said that she would
increase the fee by $20.00. Still said no. She then wanted to know why. I explained my
reasons, one of them being the high cost of gasoline. Her reply, "Oh, is gas that much
higher in California?"

Around the same time, another out-of-state signing service, wanted me to drive 40 miles,
one-way, beyond my service area (80 miles more, round-trip, with no additional fee.).
When I told this person no, she said, "Oh, 40 miles is nothing. I'm looking at the map, it's
not that far. I drive it all the time. . . Are the miles different in California?" Still said no.

Therefore no, I have not been called "greedy" (as of yet), though, I'm sure these
two women had their own choice words for me (as did I for them)!

Sort of...

Had a SS a few months ago ask me if I was planning in making my whole month's profit off their one proposed signing, lol.
I only asked for $150.......

Re: Anyone been called greedy?..Sure have

According to them, we are all greedy little smurfs. (1) "How dare us for NOT traveling 40 miles 1-way for a $75 e-doc fee". (2) "We are the ones with all the overhead". (3) "All you have to do is print the docs and go". (4) "But your only an inch away on the map". (5 and my favorite) "There are other notaries in your area that do it fot that fee". to which I reply, "then you need to call them"
