Anyone own a HP 3390???
I have a brother MFC 8500, and am so sick of buying drums. I also have an HP 1300. Thinking of going with just one printer, and HP customer service said HP 3390 would be great. Right now its 50% off with rebate, then of course i have to buy another printer tray. But, jeez... maybe its worth it just so I don't have to buy drums. Any info is appreciated. I'be been researching for weeks now. Read lots of posts, didn't come up with anything on HP 3390 that helped me at all. Thanks, April

According to the specs, the HP Laserjet 3390 does not have a second input tray. It has a "priority slot" though. All that does is feed from the priority slot rather than the input tray, so you cannot mix letter and legal like you can with two separate input trays.

Don't know what your workload is, but I would not recommend an AIO to print docs full time. It's just not a wise business investment due to risk of equipment failure (overworked). A 10K pages monthly duty cycle equates to roughly 333 pages/day.

PAW:
I think I found the tray that fits this model. What do you think? HP LaserJet 250-sheet Paper Tray (Q7556A)

Interesting ...
The specs for the 3390 specifically state:
Paper trays, std. 1 plus single-sheet priority slot. Paper trays, max. 1 plus single-sheet priority slot. [end quote]
But if you look at the accessories, it shows the following:
HP LaserJet 250-sheet Paper Tray (Q7556A) compatible with HP LaserJet 3390 All-in-One
I don't know which is correct. (I'm willing to bet on the second tray being optional. So max trays should be 2.)

I appreciate you looking into it for me! I guess not many people have this printer. Maybe I'll give it a try. Thanks again!

Re: Interesting ...
I have a HP 3055 with one legal tray (250 pgs) and a priority slot tray (10-15 pgs), it took some time to learn to juggle the loan paperwork from legal to letter but I found that a little patience works all the time. A great printer and fast copier / scan functions with fax. Just wish I had waited at least 1 month before they went on sale.. could of saved $250.00.. but commissioned came in August and I jumped right in.. I upgraded my pc to 1Gig RAM and WOW is it fast! Adobe 6.0 was the key also to printing out loan docs.. just some help for the community!!
