BBB question

I have a question for anyone that has filed a report with the BBB about a non paying company.
I did this for the first time on Friday and I just received an email response. I'll copy and paste it here:

We thank you for taking the time to write to us about your
recent experience.

The Better Business Bureau is a private, non-profit
organization, not a government agency. We work with consumers
and businesses to help them settle disputes, but we have no
enforcement authority and cannot force a settlement.

We are unable to process your complaint because of the
reason(s) checked below. However we will retain your
correspondence for file information.

______ You have already taken court action or hired legal
counsel.

______ Your complaint is against an individual (not against
a business). You may want to obtain legal advice.

______ The BBB does not handle wage claims or employment
disputes.

______ The BBB does not handle claims for legal fees, loss
of wages, depreciation or any other incidental or
punitive damages.

__x____ Your complaint is an attempt to collect a debt. You may
want to obtain legal advice.

Thank you for contacting the Better Business Bureau.

I have seen the reports on their site that were filed against non paying companies by other notaries, such as Sox, for example. I am wondering, now, if I filled out the proper form. (This was the BBB in Pittsburgh, PA.) Well, I guess it's back to my nasty letter writing campaign!

Yes, I sent an email back stating that they had helped other people in my predicament, why can't they help me? This was for the Denver, CO BBB. I also stated that I was not an employee, I couldn't file an employment or wage claim. I really pushed the contract issue as well. I got a response stating that they could in fact help me. Hope this helps.

Re: Also, is PA where the company was located?

They are in Pittsburgh. I didn't write back to the BBB, but I called the co. again. They swore that the check went out yesterday. I'll give it two days. I was just surprised to get that response from the BBB b/c I had read such positive comments on the message board. I was ready to sit back and relax and let them start calling me for a change! lol
