Borrower calls back for more.....

I performed a signing for a TC (very fair fee) in the end of September. Very pleasant and knowledgeable borrower. Signing went very smoothly. Returned docs to TC, and all is well.

Evidently, Mr. Borrower was still shopping around even as we were signing. He finds a better deal and excersizes RTC. Goes for the better deal.

Yesterday, check comes in mail from TC for signing, full fee. Receive phone call from Mr. Borrower. "I have some loan docs that need to be notarized" Oh, ok, one of those docs to borrower - - find your own notary kinda deals.

OK, my fee is $XX. Mr. Borrower agrees. Go see Mr. Borrower, stamp, stamp, and collect my money.

Life is good.

What IS your secret JB?

You have more borrower's calling you (hence COD payment) than anyone else I know of.
Care to share, big boy? Wink

Re: What IS your secret JB?

High ranking on all the directories, and I think I get more because I only use my business name. Borrowers are more likely to click the name of a company than a person's name... jmo.

Thanks for that info JB

I also use my company name, but don't know how to get the high ranking.
I need to do some better research on that.

Re: What IS your secret JB?

JB is famous (in my mind anyway) for having brw's find him, before he ever did a signing for him. I think that's awesome!
I am also feeling good that the 2/28 clients from '04 are requesting me on their refi's this year.

Re: What IS your secret JB?

I have this quite a bit and also am asked to come back for private notary signings. As they say build your business, don't just strive for the money.

I also send a handwritten thank you card to EVERY borrower I meet.
I get a lot of call backs from borrowers who keep the thank you cards.

Re: What IS your secret JB?

Would you mind sharing what you put on the thank-you card? Something as simple as thanking them for the business, or nice meeting them? I think that is a wonderful idea!

I have many repeat customers that either call me direct or tell the TC they use me exclusively. One of my "regulars" called last week to have me over to notarize wills, trusts and some other corp. docs. When ever I do business with investors I always let them know they can insist that their TC or lender call me to facilitate their signing. I have one investor that said "I think I'll just give you a key to my house since you're here all the time." Nice guy, I've also done closings for his daughters.
