Ever heard of this before?
While having lunch with my friends today one of them told me a story of something that happened to them recently. They refinanced their home and the notary came out to have the docs signed then about a week later called my friend and said she is also a loan officer and that she could save alot of money if she would take out a second on her house and consolidate her car loan, credit cards etc. The notary does not work as a LSA for the same company as the one she did the loan signing for. I was amazed to hear this. She used confidental information to try to get her to take out another loan with her. Needless to say my friend said no. She couldn't believe this happened and the original loan docs were sent FedEx to my friend. So she had to physically pull out the liability info after the signing. Ever heard of this happening before?

That was LOW! Highly unethical! Haven't heard of that happening before. Did your friend report the notary to anyone? If she does, keep us informed on what happens. The notary should be reported simply for using the BO's info!

My friend said she was going to report her to the loan company who hired her to do the signing for her refi. I think it was highly unethical as well. I will keep you posted.

I've had a couple ss's ask if I was a LO before they'd give me a job. Which means it's happened at least a few times...
