Explanation of Closing Costs
I stumbled upon this while researching some stuff and thought I'd share it with those who are interested. Notice it also covers Notary Fees (see below). http://www.meademortgage.com/closingcostcurses.htm
Notary / Signing Fee What is it? Fee for the notary performing the signing Who gets it? Notary How much? $100-$150 for in-office...$150-$200 for a mobile notary Negotiable? Sometimes. Ask the escrow company as early as possible

This one? Document Printing Fee What is it? Fee for escrow printing and collating emailed loan documents Who gets it? Escrow company How much? $100 - $175 Negotiable? Not typically --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I would think that pertains to when the docs are printed by the escrow company, not us. BUT... Escrow would still have to mail them out and a NSA would need to be contracted for the signing, unless, of course they do the closing at the Escrow Co. However, a NSA still needs to be paid. Hmmmmm.

Nice for explanations, but fees listed are ...
relative to that particular Mtg broker and their specific affiliations and market, as I suspect was their intention. I found many of the fees and also a lot of the terminology to be inconsistant with what's common around my own state, for example.
