FedEx-as I always say different person different response

I went to a FedEx location a few weeks ago to drop a packet, as I exited I ask if may take some envelopes, as I looked through the supplies to pick out what I wanted. I saw there was none of what I wanted.
I said oh you have none, the clerks reply was that's why you ordered online.
My thoughts for NR, snippy little twit, my own personal " What a total bit??.

With that said I dropped in one day last week(same location different clerk), to drop a packet off, I asked do you mind if I take some supplies, I said oh never mind you don't have what I need. I turned to her and ask, "why is it so difficult to get the legal size reusable envelope" she reaches below the counter, grabs at least 30 and hands em over.......I asked may I take all those?????She said yes of course.......

Re: FedEx. And Good Morning to You All!

Know what you mean. The same Kinko/Fedex store one person told me I couldn't have more then 5 envelopes. On another day and another person will give you the "whole farm." It got to be such hassle I just opened an account . So now I order online. Where's their logic ? I live in the boon docks and they deliver the supplies for free. When I can just as easily pick-up the supplies when I drop of my env's for the day. lol

Re: Same here we have a few drop boxes I prefer to never use

the drop boxes, the drop boxes are almost always empty of supplies interestingly enough....wonder why......no surprise here. However I'm down below in the cities M-F during the day and can swing by and pick up supplies. I just like to have a nice stash so I don't run low. Especially when the snow arrives I like to be well stocked up on everything.....

I run in and slide it up on the desk and leave. One block back to my place, I can check to see if it is in the system with tracking.

Use the drop box

I've learned over the last few years that packages are much more likely to get lost, misplaced, or delayed when using the manned facilities instead of a drop box. There are more hands involved in passing the package to where it needs to go, they can get set aside and not given to the drivers, tossed in the wrong pile, etc. I had several delayed packages a few years ago, the common thread was that they were all dropped at a facility. I became well acquainted with a manager of a UPS office, and he confirmed what I had already learned. It's much more reliable to use the drop box.

Re: Use the drop box - just the opposite experience

Over the past few years, I have had three "lost" packages. All three were dropped in a drop box. I use a manned facility all the time now. This facility does not just take the package and put it somewhere, they actually "log" it in. Both FedEx and UPS packages are scanned by the counter clerk before placing it in the appropriate pickup container. Then FedEx/UPS scans each package as it is picked up. Hopefully, both scan lists agree.

I have had one title company ask me to obtain a clerks signature for each package "delivered" to the facility. I think I did it twice before the requirement was abolished. The point that the TC made was to ensure that the packages were being dropped in a timely manner. Apparently, the TC was having some NSA's hold the package until they felt like dropping it. Packages must be dropped same day, if early enough or no later than next pickup day to ensure timely delivery to the TC and/or lender.

Re: Use the drop box - just the opposite experience-Me Too

I prefer to hand my package to a live person, they scan, then and I'm good to go.....I do think it may depend on the area one's in.

Re: Use the drop box

I have never had a Fed Ex package lost, and due to the non-availabilty of a fed ex staffed location (30+miles) I always use the drop box.
My day appointments never finish before the time I can request a same day pick-up.
I do wish I had the opportunity to have a Fed Ex facility within a reasonable drive.
With UPS, there is a staffed facitlity every few miles, so I normally drop there, unless is is past pick-up time. Then I use the 6 PM drop box.
