GPS Devices
Do you have a GPS device in your vehicle? Do you like it? Would you buy one again? What model is it?

I have a MIO which for GPS has worked wonderfully. However, I am having a tough time getting it to work wireless. I would be so "lost" without a gps!

No, I don't have a GPS, but I've got a warning tale.
Recently I was getting a cup of coffee in Mystic, CT when a fellow asked for directions at the counter. He said his Garmin (?sp?) GPS unit didn't have the streets in the Mystic area.
Don't know how one would check for that kind of thing in advance, but ....

Lisa GPS systems work fine in NC. The only problem I have is there are so many new communities that do not show up. If you can map it on Mapquest or google maps the GPS system will find it. It is great for door to door. If you get one it will be well worth it.

I use a Garmin iQue3600 combo GPS and Palm Pilot. It's great, couldn't live without it (I do home valuations for banks so I have to find 7-10 new addresses per week)
The combo unit was a very cheap solution to two problems and it's handy, but I've had one stolen, two I broke the screen on and two fail in the past 3 years...
I'll never be without GPS again, but I might upgrade to a different unit.

Lisa, I have GPS built into my car along with bluetooth. really is great for this business. The bluetooth give me hands free operation for cell communication. Nothing I hate worse than someone dirving, talking on the cell and slammin down a MacD

Re: COBRA 4000 WORKS GREAT
I've got Garmin's StreetPilot 2720. Portable, no batteries, has darkness enhancement, has all states already installed, will not leave my driveway without it. Pricey but worth it. The absence of batteries is a definite improvement.

I have the Garmin c330 (walmart online $387) Love it! Love it! Love it! You MUST update your GPS from time to time through their websites (depending on brand) to keep on top of new streets. Most people take it out of the box and into the car never to see a USB cable again. Garmin has an awesome website. They keep you very up to speed. I check for updates every 3mo just for S@@ts & Giggles.

TomTom and I also love it. Any GPS will not have very new streets or developments until their maps are updated so I always print a map from Streets & Trips or an online map program.

I have a Lowerance I finder pro. I have a sd memory card that will hold maps of differnent states. I like this feature because it allows me the feature to add states if I am on vacation or just traveling. It has gotten me "unlost" on a couple of occasions. I got it do do the sport of Geocaching so having the map feature was important to me. I give it a thumbs up rating.
