HP 3015
I have a line going down the page of all scanned docs and all faxed doc. Not any of the docs that are printed. Anyone else have a problem with this? If so how did you fix it? Thanks b.

It fixed by itself on my hp-3015. It seems that a tiny piece of dirt or paper maked those little lines from the top to the bottom, but all of sudden it dissapeared, but then they come again and then go.

Bev,
There is something on your the surface of the scanner. Flip up the auto-sheet feeder (I'm not familiar where it is on your machine). Clean it up real good. Blowing on it may help.
If you have one little speckle of paper or lint or maple syrup on the glass, you'll get that line on everything you scan.
Hope this helps.

I have the same printer/fax. Love it! Try copying another sheet of paper. If it comes out fine, then it is a problem with the fax that sent it to you. If so, call the tc/ss and tell them the problem. Usually they will say to use the docs anyway. Once I had them reschedule for the next day and overnight the pkg. to me. Sometimes they will find a way to e-mail.
Hope that helps. Good luck.

Could be what the others said, also. I just had other docs come to me the same days without it happening. Hope I didn't confuse you.

This is what I've been told...A fax machine uses little "lights" to scan and or fax. Over time some of the little lights may burn out and that is what causes the line(s) on scanned/faxed docs.
Don't know how true it is, but a copy machine repair man told me and it made sense to me.
I have a 3015 that is 1 1/2 years old and I have one burnt out light that creates a line in the same place every time.
Now, let's see what our equipment guru's have to say about this. Andy? Paul?

That makes sense Becca. I don't know how I can fix this. I've tried everything. No luck.

Got your e-mail. Check yours
Sometimes it is a problem in the drum. The toner and drum are together on this machine (so I'm told). The drum went on my last machine and did the same thing. I would try switching the toner cartridge. If it still does this, take it in or buy a new one. IMHO

I had the same problem with one of my 3015's and found that by cleaning the scanning glass plate the problem went away. Cleaning this plate is easy to do. You just need to lift the console from the rear to the front to expose the scanning glass and wipe clean using a lint free cloth with a little glass cleaner on it.
