I Feel Awful...
I had found another notary in my area on this site and have referred business to him a couple of times when I could not do a closing. I KNOW I should have called and spoken with him first, but I had been giving out his phone number. I just saw in today's newspaper that he was killed in a car accident last year and his family had written him a touching poem with a photo of him and his little girl. He was only in his mid 20's. The phone numbers may no longer be good, but I'm afraid to even try to see if this is still a number that his family is at. What would you do??? I'm definatley not giving it out but should I notify Harry or other members of NR??? Thanks for all the input.

and what we can do to prevent this
Yes, I would notify Harry, and would even check around the other places and let them know.
Someone gave my husband and I a "When I die ..." kind of notebook, and we both have included each other's 'internet presence' information, just for this purpose. If it's not kept track of, then the person who's left behind would never be able to remove the deceased person's internet presence. We even list such sites (such as this one) where we'd like the other person to announce our departure to others. Once you get this kind of info started in a book, it's easy to keep it current - but it's quite a feat to put it all in place to begin with.
