Joe Schmo Attorney Saga - UPDATED

Well after Mr. Attorney threatened to put me out of business and file defamation suit against me... he finally paid his bill... AND OVERPAID $75.

Seems like another one of his games to me. I am going to deposit the check, give it plenty of time to clear, and then send him a refund of the additional $75.00 that was overpaid.
God only knows what this psycho is up to now. Is he trying to buy me?

Opinions?

Why let Joe have all the fun...

Deposit the check, let it clear then send him a letter saying that he overpaid and you'll credit it to the next job he does with you.

This relationship's over, so there's no job to be gained or lost, just a way to step on his tail one last time.

Re: Why let Joe have all the fun...

while that may sound like fun, if the lawyer in fact does call again and is turned down.....trouble. I agree with JB. If he was overpaid, unless there was notation as to a late charge, he should send it back and be done with it.
