List of Bad Companies

Is there a list of Bad Guys out there. I just did a signing for Notary ASAP. My first one--A lead from Notary Rotary. How can I find a list of who and who not to work for? I was so excited to do my first one that I did not even think to check on credientials and all. I am from California originally and the company was a California one so I went with it. (Now that I think about it being from Cali and all I maybe should have asked first--Just kidding!!). I broke the ice I am happy!!

That's it. I'm convinced that you're a BBB employee.

Why is a BBB link your answer to every question? Brad, this tells us nothing about a company. What do they pay? How quickly? Are they nice? Overnight or e-docs? Faxbacks? Follow ups? The BBB has such little control and knowledge about this industry. How does a BBB link answer the question of whether or not there's a list of bad companies? Please, stop already.

Melissa, there are several lists floating around. We're just very reluctant to post it for legal reasons. Plus, it's such a gray area. Some may say a company is a no-no (maybe they're slow pay), others may love them (maybe I don't care if they take 60 days to pay). Someone might be willing to e-mail you their list, or you can try searching this board or others for "no-no." But take it with a grain of salt. Use the search feature to find what others have said about a company. There are very few that haven't already been discussed in length. If the search shows nothing or outdated info, post a question. If a company is a consistent no pay, don't think twice about calling them back and turning down the appointment.

Opps... I didn't read your post Al... I was thinking Brad

was a BBB employee too... I thought it was funny... But I like having the information and appreciate him posting it. Someone else usally adds to the post and combined with Brads info we usually get a good idea of the company (good or bad) anyway same thought different viewpoints..

Good Day! All... Gotta sign off and go bake a pumkin cake. Took today off to celebrate my daughters B-Day... "smiles" Poppy

Al, I am not an employee of BBB. If you do not like what I post, do not read it. Do not ever tell me what to post or not to post on this forum. Many, and I mean many people have thanked me for my posts. Who the h**L do you think you are? Certainly not anybody worth
listening too.

No thanks from me, Brad...

After someone complained about a signing company in Washington, you provided them a BBB link regarding MY company in Ohio, that has the same name, but NO relation or affiliation with the offending one. Would've been nice if you had checked out which company was which, before giving someone the opportunity to register a BBB complaint about my company instread of the correct one.

Roger, please provide me with the name of your company, which is not listed on your profile, and the message number, so that I may investigate your allegation.

Well, it's good to know you have an opinion on something

All we ever see are BBB links all day long. Honestly, I just thought you were a computer bot. But while you're throwing a tantrum, why don't you answer the questions: Let me ask again, and add a few more: What does Notary ASAP pay? How quickly? Are they nice? Overnight or e-docs? Faxbacks? Follow ups? Have you ever actually done one signing for them? What does the BBB know about signing services? How do they monitor them?

The links tell us nothing (and in Roger's case, they were incorrect and harmful).

Sorry Brad...I'm a little tired of BBB BS posts too.

Enough already! It's old and overdone, kind of like "stay the course." If the folks on the hill can admit that something that was once effective is no longer effective...I think you can too.

We all have a computer, we all have google and we all know about the BBB. Why not try posting information with substance, for a change.

Ditto Susan, I find it's helpful, especially when I was having problems a few months ago.

Hi Melissa. I have a copy of the widely distributed "No-No" list. If you do a search on "No-No List" you will surely find the original version. The list I keep for myself is the original version that I have added to - personal experiences with non-paying companies and also companies that get posted about on NotRot. When several notaries post that a company has a poor payment history, then it goes on my list. If you e-mail me at [e-mail address] I will send it to you.
