Lost a signing to AAA...

Friends of mine said they will need a notary for their refinance. The docs were being sent to them. Told them to call me when they have the docs. They called at 10:30am and I was out doing signings and didn't get home until 4:30pm. Called them back, and they went to their bank who referred them to AAA. Turns out AAA will notarize docs for members, but they can only do a certain number a day "for free", so they are returning tomorrow to have AAA notaryize the rest of them. I asked my friends if this was ok with the Title company...their reply, "well, they mailed the docs to us and we'll return them when they're done". It will be interesting to see what happens. What irks me is they called and left a message on my home phone, but when they called me Saturday about it, they called on my business phone. Now, why didn't they call me on my business phone to let me know they had the docs? I wouldn't think to forward my home phone to my cell, because nobody, but nobody, knows my home phone number for business purposes! (except friends, right?) Oh, well... lost one to AAA!

I worked for AAA ( Auto Club of So Cal) and yes they have been providing this service for about 3 years now. If you have a regular membership they only charge $7 per signature. If you have a Premier Plus membership the service is free. I am not aware of there being a limit to how many free notary services they can provide. Each office usually has 2-3 notaries depending on the size of the office.
